K.P. Rajendran has over 20 years of experience in the Development Sector. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Madras and completed a Short-term Advanced Course in Urban Management from School of Public Policy, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. Rajendran is the founder and team leader of FourX4, a social development support organization. He had previously held key managerial and leadership positions in development agencies such as Aga Khan Foundation, ORBIS International and Christian Children’s Fund.He has also been Team Leader for Evaluation of projects funded by USAID, European Union, |
Misereor, etc.He has evaluated performance of health system under NRHM for North East, Bihar and Chhattisgarh. He also worked as Consultant for UNICEF, WHO and several other international development agencies. |
Last few years, he has been associated with HelpAge India as Consultant in creating Community Based Organizations for elders, develop innovative model for creating entrepreneurship and banking system for elders, create community based elder-care system for destitute elders. He was instrumental in developing the first ever micro-credit based entrepreneurship programme for the aged in various locations in India, including community based elder care system. He has also been involved in developing comprehensive fitness and wellness care system for the aged, as this is one of the least developed areas of the Indian health care system. |

DR. MANOJ K. DASH |

Dr. Manoj K. Dash, a result oriented development management professional, has been working on cross-cutting themes in the social development sector for more than 17 years. He holds a Doctoral Degree in Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Currently, Dr. Dash is functioning as Director-Operations in FourX4, a social development support and consulting organization. He had previously held pivotal positions in the Rehabilitation Council of India, SOS-India and SOS- Kinderdorf International and has also |
been a consultant to the UNICEF. He has carried out research and evaluation studies sponsored by the Govt. of India, WHO and UNDP. As a consultant to HelpAge India he has carried out a comprehensive baseline survey of more than 50,000 families of elders and mapped their disease profiles in 20 locations across nine states in India. The huge data forms part of a healthcare project (a flagship CSR initiative of ONGC) aimed at triggering the concept of active aging across the country.
Dr. Dash is also engaged in supporting a grassroots health service initiative for elderly persons implemented by HelpAge India in several rural locations of Himachal Pradesh province which has significant potential to feed into the policy on health service delivery mechanism for the elderly in India. He has also recently advised the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute (Govt. of India) on quantum of trainers required by five key social sector Ministries to meet the huge target of skilled manpower. Dr. Dash has been a Member of the Steering Committee of the Planning Commission of India on ‘Development of Women and Children’ for the 11th Plan period (2007-12) and also a Member of the ‘Working Group on Foetcide and Infanticide’ of National Commission for Protection of Rights of Children (NCPCR), Government of India, New Delhi, since 2008. |
